This Panasonic vacuum has a bypass system. That means that as debris is sucked into the vacuum via the roller area, it goes up a hose and straight into the vacuum bag. Debris doesn't pass thru a fan or near the motors. This vacuum is well made and is a very good value for homes with a lot of carpet.
